Location

ICON is located on one of the last remaining beachfront lots in Cabarete Bay, right between the historical residential complex Bahia de Arena and the Viva Tangerine Hotel. It is sufficiently far away from the town’s center, but close enough to the action.

It is also perhaps one of the only parts of the entire bay that is not affected by seasonal erosion and sand shifts. It is perfectly situated to receive the NE side/onshore winds that are not affected by the East point of the Cabarete Bay: the wind blows diagonally to launch your downwinder straight from the shore. The total land surface is more than 24,000 square meters and has an exceptional linear exposure to the beach of 130 meters.

The beachfront orientation is NE (sunrise facing), and the road/access orientation is SW (sunset facing).

“I have been coming to Cabarete since I was a teenager and got hooked on kiteboarding. It was always easy to come since I had family living in the country and would always visit. As I grew older and travelled the world, I realized what a magical place Cabarete is. The amazing conditions for kiting, the unpretentious beachfront living, the community…I don’t know what it is that makes me love this place so much. Over the years all my friends that I have invited here are marveled and always want to come back, so it’s not just me. When the 2019 pandemic hit, I was stuck in Cabarete and I never left since. In the meantime, having sold my business and being unemployed, I started buying up property to develop unique projects. I broke the mold with my first one, EDEN, offering ultra-lux extra-large ocean front properties. I also purchased an abandoned golf course that I’m converting into a proper country club, started doing events to bring people in off-season, and even purchased an existing 60-bedroom hotel to refurbish. When I do projects, I’m inspired to do ones that are amazing, that have a jaw dropping wow-factor, and that will stand the test of time. I’m sure all this ecosystem we’re developing will soon turn Cabarete into the worldclass destination it deserves to be.

“Tourism in the North Coast of Dominican Republic has always been one of my greatest passions. Over the years I have had the privilege to design, manage, and build countless hotels and villas and I’ve been witness to the ups and downs of the area: I remember the good old years of the jet set, and other not so good years when a lot was lost, and travelers flocked to other areas. All I can see now is evidence a major comeback for the area.

When I met Leonardo, I instantly shared his vision for making Cabarete a coveted destination, and to keep it that way. Most of the projects I have worked on, like Casa Colonial Hotel in neighboring Puerto Plata, have been conceived with the same premise. From my experience running my architectural firm Estudio Sarah García, I also bring my vision of creativity to the table. My team and I have worked with a lot of dedication to bring the best of us in this wonderful beachfront residential complex. I couldn’t be more proud or enthusiastic about this upcoming project.”

Rentals

Our company is well experienced with managing properties and rentals and we support the fact that properties work best when centrally managed. Owners at ICON can live full time or rent (either short or long-term) for as many days as they please: however, all rentals are managed centrally through the ICON administration, and owner payouts are handled as a property average (rental pool) on a monthly basis.
